The Rich Kid

I know Jesus Christ; I refuse to speculate

Conjectures, lectures are skewed perceptions-reprobate

Focusing on the present forgetting the Exodus and manna I ate

But wait-

Is my faith only apparent when there is bread falling from the sky?

Or can I honor Jesus when the ground seems dry?

When the need is great and help is not nigh

Will I stand, witnessing of His glory or wallow and sigh?

Surely these fish will multiply to infinite powers

Undoubtedly, heavens windows will pour blessing showers

Indubitably, this is my season, indeed this very hour

When I take my eyes off of lack it turns to plenty- now that’s power

In Jesus name, the wicked will be repaid

Recompense for the righteous streets filled with praise crusades

I’m refreshed in the Spirit, on hot days as a glass of lemonade

Because God never forgets the promises that He made

Yet even in earthly prosperity, in heaven is where my treasure’s laid
