Flesh Fight

Whether it be deliverance or laying something down

Both require a faithful God and a person who is bound

Truly, this poem is a divine outlet

Keeping me from reaching for a sinful habit

My flesh wants relief but it’s never satisfied

I was desperate for healing so loudly I cried

Dear Lord, please take the desire – make me hate

The things that get in the way of our relationship, I waste

Precious time trying to gratify ungrateful flesh

Not this time, sin is not an option. I am passing this test!
