Hope that Outlasts…

My hope is sure to outlast the impact from the most recent test

Growing eyelids, the tempest is steady, hope here is narrow

Reminded that my character is being built even as the sun sets

Sunny days took the year off but You never forget those sparrows

Even what is common to man God repurposes as a sign of promise

I am beyond rotten! Calling the Father, chiefly to complain

Demanding a halt in the affliction, due to my good behavior, “Honest!”

Evidently, only thoughts of the issue consumed my brain

Until I spiraled into discouragement and found I wasn’t alone

Many of us had gotten side tracked somehow by life’s cares

The antidote? Falling on our face, crying “Holy, He reigns on the throne!”

Quickly we were swept into Your presence escaping the nightmares

Hope does not mean waiting to die because my faith can’t stretch any further

My endurance of faith is being tested, I must continue to trust and pray

Though the storm rages my hope is my main encourager

Knowing in the Lords plan, in the Lord’s time, He will make a way

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

  1. Hope is so wonderful and after looking into the word and its biblical meaning it changed my understanding of those parts of Gods word where hope was used. Great post.

Thanks! To God be the glory. I let my hope slip but God showed me in the Word how His hope never fails. Now I am free to hope again. Be blessed!!
